After the great success of the two previous editions, the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera reopens its hidden corners, classrooms, workshops and ateliers to live together an unprecedented experience. During the summer, the Academy reveals its didactic and research activities giving the possibility to each school to present a single project.
From 13 July until 12 August 2017, the classrooms will be set up for the occasion as exhibition spaces.
In "Open Academy" Schools of Painting, sculpture, decoration, graphics, of engraving, fashion design, scenography, restoration, artistic design for the enterprise/design, new technologies and artistic therapeutics, photography courses, restoration courses, and the Department of Communication and didactics of art present projects specific to their activities.
The novelty of this third edition, compared to previous years, are the special events. The Accademia di Brera opens to the city of Milan, crossing the historic threshold of Palazzo Brera. This year Open Academy inaugurates several collaborations with external venues where young artists Brera will expose their works. They are involved in the art galleries of the Brera district (Galleria Laidlaw, Galleria Anna-Maria Consadoi, Galleria vs Arte, Galleria Antonio Battaglia and Galleria Cattai), the Museum of the Permanent, and other venues such as Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena and the auditorium Verdi.
In addition to the off-site events, the Accademia di Brera confirms its participation in the prestigious International Rai Prix Italia competition from 29/09 to 1/10/2017 that rewards creativity, innovation and quality in television programs. The school of Scenography is involved in a creative project focused on the Prix that will be anticipated with Open Academy and presented in its final version during the competition.
